Community Teacher (Alternative Provision)
West Northamptonshire, West Midlands
Permanent | Full Time
£30,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)

The PWR team at Teaching Personnel is delighted to be working with a forward-thinking alternative provision in Northamptonshire to recruit a passionate and committed Community Teacher.

This unique and rewarding role involves working with up to five students who face barriers to traditional education. As a Community Teacher, you will deliver tailored academic and pastoral support, helping to re-engage students in their learning journey. Lessons are delivered flexibly in homes, local facilities, or community spaces, with the ultimate goal of preparing students for a successful return to formal education.

About You:

We’re looking for an inspiring teacher with a commitment to supporting students who have faced challenges in their educational journey.

Requirements:

  • Hold a teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) or be willing to work towards one.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent, with Maths and English qualifications at Level 2 or above.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage student behavior effectively.
  • Experience working with students with diverse and challenging needs, ideally within an alternative education setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and inclusion practices.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with families, community organizations, and other stakeholders.

Experience teaching across the secondary age range is essential. Familiarity with virtual learning environments and specialist teaching qualifications are desirable but not required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
