Job Description: Classroom Assistant
Location: Carmarthenshire, Carmarthenshire, Carmarthen
Job Type: Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours
Primary Industry: Education and Training
Salary: £77 - £85 Per day
Job Duties:
- Assist the classroom teacher in delivering educational activities and implementing lesson plans
- Provide support to students with their learning, including one-on-one guidance and group activities
- Supervise students during classroom activities, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Support students with special educational needs or disabilities, following individualised education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher
- Assist in the management of student behaviour and encourage positive discipline
- Collaborate with the teacher and other classroom staff to promote effective teaching and learning
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities as required
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
- Clear and enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Patience and empathy towards students with diverse learning needs
- Basic understanding of child development and learning theories
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Higher-level qualifications in Education or relevant field
- Additional training in special educational needs or behaviour management
Working Conditions:
- Work primarily takes place in a classroom setting
- May involve assisting students with personal care and hygiene
- Potential exposure to challenging behaviour from students
- Regular collaboration with teachers and other classroom staff
- Opportunity for professional development and training
- Full-Time hours with a temporary contract

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
