Job Title: Challenging Behaviour Support Assistant 

Location: Birmingham
Job Type: Full Time
Hours: 8am - 4pm

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Challenging Behaviour Support Worker to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored, person-centered support to individuals with challenging behaviours, helping them with daily activities and promoting independence.
  • Manage and respond to challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support techniques, de-escalation strategies, and clear communication.
  • Assist with personal care, daily living tasks, and community integration activities.
  • Work with individuals to develop life skills, build confidence, and achieve personal goals.
  • Develop strong relationships with service users and work closely with families, carers, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on the progress, behaviour, and needs of individuals.
  • Support the emotional, social, and physical well-being of service users in line with their individual support plans.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of care plans.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience working with individuals who exhibit challenging behaviours or complex needs (desirable but not essential—full training provided).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
  • Patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to supporting individuals with diverse needs.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to use initiative when managing challenging situations.
  • Understanding of positive behaviour support and other relevant intervention strategies (training provided).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (preferred but not essential).
