Are you a dynamic and enthusiastic educator passionate about Business and IT? A well-established secondary school in Gosport is seeking a Teacher of Business and IT to join their team immediately. This is an exciting opportunity to teach Key Stages 3 and 4 and expand to Key Stage 5 in the future, contributing to a forward-thinking department committed to academic excellence and preparing students for a digital and entrepreneurial future.

 

As a Teacher of Business and IT, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality Business and IT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with plans to teach Key Stage 5 in the future.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the national curriculum, incorporating both theoretical and practical aspects of the subjects.
  • Use innovative teaching strategies and digital tools to ensure lessons are inspiring, relevant, and accessible for all learners.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Prepare students for exams and coursework in both Business and IT, fostering confidence and achievement.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students are motivated to explore and excel.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the department to develop schemes of work and share best practices.
  • Contribute to curriculum development to ensure alignment with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Support the school’s extracurricular program by participating in activities such as IT clubs, business competitions, and career-focused workshops.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and carers to support academic and personal development.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Learning: Deliver outstanding lessons, using a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the creation and refinement of curriculum materials for Business and IT across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Assessment and Reporting: Regularly assess student performance and maintain accurate records, reporting progress to relevant stakeholders.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a safe, inclusive environment conducive to learning.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current in educational trends and subject-specific advancements.
  • School Community: Actively participate in department meetings, whole-school events, and initiatives to foster a positive school ethos.
  • Pastoral Care: Provide pastoral support to students, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Have a degree in Business, IT, or a related field.
  • Possess experience teaching Business and/or IT at Key Stage 3 and 4, with aspirations to teach Key Stage 5.
  • Demonstrate excellent subject knowledge and the ability to inspire students of all abilities.
  • Be proficient in the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Exhibit strong classroom management skills and the ability to foster a respectful and focused learning environment.
  • Be an enthusiastic and innovative educator committed to continuous improvement.
  • Show dedication to supporting students’ personal and academic development.
