Job description

Position: Science Teacher

Location: Northampton

Are you passionate about biology and eager to inspire the next generation of scientists? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Biology Teacher to join our team in Northampton. This is an exciting opportunity to shape young minds and foster a love for biology in students from KS3 to KS5.

As a Teaching Personnel Biology Teacher you will be working with a variety of different schools across the Northamptonshire area covering lessons for secondary students on both short term and long term bookings. Depending on the role you will sometimes be required to plan and mark lessons so it is important that you are confident with doing this, ideally up to A-level standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Sometimes, Plan, prepare, and assess student work, ensuring individual learning needs are met (Depending on the exact position)
  • Encourage a positive learning environment and promote academic progress.
  • Work collaboratively with the Science department and contribute to extracurricular activities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching biology at secondary school level (KS3, KS4, and preferably KS5).
  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire curiosity in the field of biology
  • Desire to inspire curiosity and enthusiasm for the subject.  Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students of varying backgrounds and abilities.
  • Adaptable teaching approach, with the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of individual learners.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
