Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 depending on experience

About Us:
We are seeking a passionate, motivated, and dedicated Biology Teacher to join our enthusiastic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who wants to inspire students, encourage curiosity, and foster a love for science.

The Role:
As a Biology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will work collaboratively with a team of experienced educators to ensure that all students reach their full potential. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the science curriculum and participate in extracurricular activities that enrich students' learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver effective, engaging, and well-structured Biology lessons that meet the needs of all students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to help students improve.
  • Develop and maintain a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and curiosity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create and develop curriculum resources and teaching strategies.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Promote a love for science and biology through extracurricular activities and school events.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • A relevant teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
  • A degree in Biology or a related subject.
  • A passion for teaching and inspiring students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to adapt and differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Requirements

  • Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Provide at least two professional employment references.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience of teaching Biology at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Knowledge of current curriculum developments and assessment strategies.
  • A strong desire to be part of a supportive team working towards the success of all students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
