Biology Teacher

Are you passionate about teaching Biology and inspiring the next generation of scientists? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading all-girls’ secondary school in the heart of Caerphilly. With outstanding science facilities, modern classrooms, and a thriving student population of over 900 pupils aged 11-18, this school is committed to academic excellence and student development.

This is an agency placement is to cover a maternity leave, providing a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and supportive educational environment.

Location - Caerphilly

8:15 – 3:30

Dates – January 2025 – July (end of academic year)

Pay - £166.32 - £256.12 (paid to scale)

 

Key responsibilities:

-          Deliver creative and engaging Biology lessons from KS3 up to KS5, sparking curiosity and making complex concepts accessible and fun for all students. 

-          Use the state-of-the-art labs to lead hands-on experiments, encouraging students to explore and deepen their understanding of Biology.

-          Assess individuals individual progress, providing encouragement and personalised support to help every student reach their full potential.

-          Collaborate with Science Department colleagues to develop and refine Biology curriculum resources, ensuring content stays relevant, challenging, and engaging.

We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Biology Teacher to join a highly skilled Science Department.  In this role, you’ll deliver engaging lessons, encouraging students to explore, question, and develop a deep understanding of Biology.  You’ll have the opportunity to work with well-resourced labs and advanced technology, supporting hands-on learning and scientific exploration.

What we’re looking for:

-          Qualified Teacher Status or NQT in Biology or science, with expertise in secondary curriculum.

-          Experience Teaching Science across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.

-          A passion for teaching and a genuine commitment to students’ academic progress and well-being.

-          Ability to inspire and motivate students in their learning.

-          Flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm for contributing to the broader school community

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
