Looking for a flexible role where you can make a real difference while gaining varied experience in local schools? Teaching Personnel, a leading education recruitment agency, is seeking Behaviour Support Workers to work across schools in Halifax and nearby areas.

This is a great opportunity to work in primary, secondary, and occasionally post-16 settings, depending on your experience and preferences. Many of the students you'll support may face challenges such as SEMH needs, exclusions, medical issues, or personal circumstances, with a large number having an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP). Your role will be essential in helping them overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.

About the Role:

As a Behaviour Support Worker, you’ll be key in fostering a safe and structured learning environment. You'll work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and SENCOs to provide tailored support to students, either one-to-one or in small groups.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing behaviour intervention strategies for individual students or groups.
  • Helping students with SEMH needs manage emotional and behavioural challenges to improve engagement in education.
  • Delivering targeted interventions on mental health, self-esteem, anger management, and resilience.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a calm, structured learning environment.
  • Supporting reintegration of students following exclusions or long-term absences to improve attendance and punctuality.
  • Assisting teachers with delivering personalised learning plans to keep students on track.

About You:

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Team Teach training is desirable (or a willingness to complete this training).
  • Experience working with young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour.
