Teaching Assistant Required
Location: Specialist School, Blyth
Position Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Are you a passionate Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact? Our education agency is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 class within a specialist school for pupils with SEMH and learning difficulties.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Work closely with a small number of pupils, providing individualised support tailored to their learning needs.
- Assist with literacy, numeracy, and other classroom activities, adapting materials where necessary.
- Implement strategies to support engagement, positive behaviour, and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff to ensure the pupil’s progress is effectively monitored and supported.
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive environment to help the pupils thrive academically and socially.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience supporting children with ALN, such as ASD, ADHD, or SEMH needs.
- Be patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about working with children.
- Have excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Hold a relevant qualification, such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certificate (desirable but not essential).
