Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: North West England, Lancashire, Preston
Job Type: Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours
Salary: £83.85 - £100 Per day
Job Description:
Job Duties:
- Provide support to students with challenging behaviour within an educational setting
- Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions as directed by the SENCO or teaching staff
- Assist in the development and implementation of individual behaviour plans
- Monitor and record student behaviour and progress, reporting back to the SENCO or teaching staff
- Support students in social and emotional development
Required Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Relevant experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour
Education:
- Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent
Experience:
- Experience working in a similar role within an educational environment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively support students with behaviour difficulties
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of behaviour management techniques
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Higher level qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or related field
- Training in de-escalation techniques
Working Conditions:
- Work primarily within a school environment
- Full-time hours with occasional requirement for extra hours or flexibility
- May involve some physical activity and potential exposure to challenging behaviour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
