Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting pupils who need help managing their behaviour, enabling them to fully engage in their learning. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting Positive Behaviour: Work closely with pupils who may exhibit challenging behaviour, helping them develop strategies to improve their behaviour and succeed in the classroom.
  • Individualised Support: Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to the needs of specific pupils, focusing on promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Building Relationships: Establish strong, trusting relationships with students to create a supportive and safe learning environment.
  • Collaborating with Staff: Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff to implement behaviour management plans and contribute to a cohesive learning environment.
  • Monitoring Progress: Track and report on pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and helping to adjust support plans as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, preferably in a primary school setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to managing challenging behaviour.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
