Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant

Location: South East England, Surrey, Croydon

Job Type: Contract, Full-Time

Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to students with challenging behaviour in educational settings.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies as directed by the SENCO or teacher.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual behaviour plans.
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create a positive learning environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSE qualifications in English and Maths.
  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
  • Understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.

Education:

  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field is desirable.

Experience:

  • Prior experience working in a similar role is advantageous.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
  • Good understanding of child development and learning processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training in behaviour management or special educational needs (SEN) is preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Work hours may vary and could include some evenings or weekends.
  • The role may involve working with students with diverse needs and abilities.
  • Regular interaction with teachers, parents, and external agencies may be required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
