Behaviour Support Assistant: Full-Time
Start Date: Monday 2nd June 2025
Location: Burnley, Lancashire
Are you passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives? We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Behaviour Support Assistant to join a dynamic and supportive team at a forward-thinking secondary school in Burnley. This full-time position is available to start immediately after the May half-term.
In this role, you will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support students in overcoming barriers to learning, promoting positive behaviour, and helping to create a safe and inclusive learning environment. You will be a key part of a proactive strategy to help students succeed both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support individual students and small groups with behaviour management strategies.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students, offering consistency and encouragement.
- Assist with the implementation of behaviour intervention plans.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals to meet the needs of students.
- Contribute to a positive and respectful school culture.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with young people in an educational or youth work setting.
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach to managing behaviour.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A genuine commitment to the well-being and progress of students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
