Job description

Are you passionate about supporting young people with autism and mental health challenges? A welcoming SEN school in East Grinstead is seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join their team and work closely with pupils who experience anxiety, ASD, and emotional distress in educational settings.

Role Highlights:

  • Work alongside pupils aged 11–18 to support emotional wellbeing and learning

  • Deliver small-group sessions focused on social communication and self-awareness

  • Help manage anxiety and low mood through structured daily routines

  • Collaborate with therapists and school staff to track progress and provide tailored support

Key Skills:

  • Experience supporting children with ASC and mental health needs (desirable)

  • A caring, reflective and non-judgemental approach

  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a low-arousal, respectful way

  • Strong teamwork and excellent communication
