Job description

Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of multiple schools in the area who cater for children between the ages of 4-19. All schools cater for children with special educational needs (SEN) so you could be asked to support students with:

  • Autism (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Learning Difficulties (MLD, SLD)
  • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Speech and Language Difficulties
  • Physical disabilities

In some schools, you may be asked to support students with personal care but this is not essential. We support many schools where this is not a requirement and wouldn’t expect you to do this if you were not comfortable.

Your role as a TA can make a transformative difference in a child’s educational journey, helping them develop the confidence, skills, and independence they need to succeed.

Some key aspects of your role will include:

  • Building trust and rapport
  • Breaking down tasks and simplifying instructions to help students focus
  • Promoting independence
  • Managing behavioural challenges

We are looking for applicants who:

  • Have experience supporting children or adults with special needs
  • Are patient and resilient
  • Show empathy and compassion
  • Are flexible and adaptable
  • Have a good sense of humour and don’t take themselves to seriously

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
