About the Role
We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Autism Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged pupils in a specialist educational setting in Blandford Forum. This full-time position is due to start in September 2025 and is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with autism and helping them achieve their full potential.

This inclusive and supportive school caters to students aged 5 to 16 with a range of special educational needs (SEN), including autism and social, emotional, and communication difficulties. The staff are committed to creating a nurturing and structured environment that fosters individual growth, emotional well-being, and academic progress.


 

Your Responsibilities
As an Autism Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with teachers and other professionals to:

  • Support students on a one-to-one or small group basis

  • Assist with tailored learning activities and sensory interventions

  • Encourage communication, engagement, and independence

  • Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
