Job Title: Autism Support Assistant

Job Duties:

• Provide support to students with autism in educational settings
• Assist with the implementation of individualised education plans
• Support the classroom teacher in creating a positive learning environment
• Help students with daily tasks and activities
• Facilitate communication and social interactions

Required Qualifications:

• Experience working with individuals with autism
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team

Education:

Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths

Experience:

Prior experience in a similar support role preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

• Understanding of autism spectrum disorders
• Patience and empathy
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

• Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
• First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

• Work primarily in a school setting
• May involve working with students who require additional support
• Full-time hours with occasional flexibility required
