Job description

Art Technician 

Teaching Personnel are supporting a large Secondary Academy in Milton Keynes seeking an Art Technician to join their team.

  • Location: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Contract: Part-time or Full Time considered on Temp to Pem contract (offered perm ater 12 week probation) 
  • Pay: £90-100 paid as a daily rate equivalent to salary of £20,000

As an Art Technician, you would play a pivotal role in the Design Department in School, one of the most popular subject areas at the Academy. We’re looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual to be a pivotal member of their ADT team. The successful candidate will be required to work across all Art and DT subjects (Art, Food, Textiles, Resistant Materials, Photography) ideally on a Monday to Friday 8.15am - 4.15pm/3.45pm on a Friday. This role may be available on a part time basis (3 or 4 days per week).

  • Familiarity with Art, Food, Textiles, Resistant Materials and Photography is desirable

Responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up, operating & maintaining machinery/equipment within the department ensuring they meet H & S requirements.
  • Implementing Health and Safety regulations and sound working practices.
  • Ensuring the tidiness and cleanliness of the ADT rooms, workshops and other work areas under the technician’s control.
  • Liaise with teaching staff on a regular/daily basis to ascertain technical support requirements and discuss with subject leaders.
  • Assist and provide help and advice to best ability where necessary to students during practical lessons.
  • Assisting with department displays.
  • Preparing project material.
