Are you an experience Art and Design Technician looking for an exciting and rewarding new role?
Are you a recent Art graduate looking to get your foot in the door working in Secondary Schools?
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting experienced and dedicated art lovers to work as an art and design technician within our partnered Secondary Schools within Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have ample Art / Design Technology experience and feel compfortable supporting the classroom teacher with the running of Art and Design classes. You will have a passion for the art industry and be comfortable working in KS3 and KS4.
The Role:
*Support the class teacher with the setting up and cleaning of classrooms before and after lesson.
*Support students in a variety of different subjects across Art and Design.
*Replenish materials on schedule for set classes.
*Assisting and advise teaching staff on the preparation and layout in classrooms for practical exercises, running trials, demonstrations and helping students with learning activities as appropriate.
*In conjunction with the appropriate teachers to advise students on the safe and proper use of tools and equipment and on the correct and safe way to carry out learning activities. To also advise staff, as necessary, on Health and Safety issues and on the best way to carry out practical work.
*Supporting students prepare materials for both 3D and 2D projects, e.g. stretch canvas, prepare screens for printing.
*Assisting in practical lessons and after hours activities when requested.
Qualifications & Experience:
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- Qualifications to A Level or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
- Experience working with a range of Art and/or Design Technology equipment and resources
- Experience or solid understanding of working as a technician in a school or educational establishment, undertaking a range of practical tasks

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
