About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and resilient School Mentor with experience in managing and supporting students with challenging behaviour. This role is an opportunity to make a real impact by providing tailored support, fostering positive relationships, and helping students overcome barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring for students displaying challenging behaviour.

• Develop and implement individual behaviour support plans in collaboration with teaching staff.

• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, valued, and respected.

• Act as a positive role model, encouraging social and emotional development.

• Support classroom management strategies and de-escalate conflicts effectively.

• Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student well-being.

• Keep accurate records of student progress and contribute to behaviour support strategies.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs), or SEN (Special Educational Needs).

• A strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies.

• The ability to build trusting relationships and adapt to the needs of different students.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• A relevant qualification in Education, Psychology, Youth Work, or Counselling is desirable but not essential.

• DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
