Job description

Join Our Team as an English Tutor for Students in Alternative Provisions!

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students? Do you have a flair for teaching English and a heart for supporting young learners who need extra help? We’re looking for dedicated, creative, and compassionate English tutors to join our team and help guide secondary students receiving alternative provisions toward success!

The Role:

As an English Tutor with us, you’ll be working with secondary students who are receiving alternative provisions – each with their own unique needs and challenges. These students are referred to us by local authorities, and your role will be to deliver engaging, one-on-one or small group sessions that help them develop their literacy skills, improve their understanding of the English curriculum, and build confidence in their abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons tailored to the individual needs of the students.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learning styles and provide differentiated support.
  • Foster a supportive and positive learning environment, encouraging students to reach their academic goals.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback and reports via our dedicated learning platform.
  • Work alongside local authorities, ensuring the tutoring provided is in line with their expectations and guidelines.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified English teacher or tutor, with experience working with secondary students (KS3/KS4).
  • Experience or interest in supporting students in alternative provisions or with diverse learning needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students.
  • Passion for inspiring students to develop a love for learning and improve their English skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently, with the motivation to support students in both academic and personal growth.

About Us:

We specialise in providing high-quality, qualified tutors for students who are receiving alternative provisions. We work closely with Local Authorities, carers and schools, allowing us to carefully match the right tutor to the right student. Our goal is to ensure every student reaches their full potential, no matter their circumstances. We believe that with the right support and approach, all students can thrive and build the confidence they need to succeed academically and personally.
