Job description

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated 1-1 Tutor to join our team in supporting children and young people across the Northampton, Daventry and Towcester areas. As a tutor, you will be responsible for delivering tailored tuition in Maths and English, either at the student’s home, school, or a local venue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1-1 tuition to children and young people, focusing on Maths and English.
  • Assess the student’s current levels and develop a personalised scheme of work tailored to their needs.
  • Plan, deliver, and review effective and engaging lessons to support academic progress.
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to suit different learning styles and ensure maximum engagement.
  • Work with students to build their confidence and help them achieve their academic goals.
  • Provide regular updates to parents and carers regarding progress.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in teaching or tutoring Maths and English at primary or secondary level.
  • Ability to assess students’ levels and create tailored learning plans.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and parents.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a genuine commitment to supporting students’ learning.
  • DBS check (or willingness to undertake one).
  • Experience working with students with a variety of learning needs is an advantage.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
