Job description

Teaching Personnel are working with a mainstream primary school in Mid Cornwall who are seeking a full time Teaching Assistant to work 1-1 with a pupil in Key Stage 1 with autism. The role is 5 days per week, Mon - Fri. Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm. This role is due to start ASAP for the right individual

The role would be supporting the pupil on a 1-1 basis. You would work with the pupil during lesson times and in 1-1 and group sessions. You will support the Key Stage 1 class teacher and be responsible for prepping pupils work, ensuring the pupil is interacting with the lessons, provide feedback and assessments and support the pupil's wellbeing. Experience supporting children or adults with similar needs would be ideal but not essential. 

The Role:

  • Full time, Monday - Friday
  • Hours approximately 8:30am - 3:30pm
  • KS1 Teaching Assistant
  • SEN Support   
  • Mid Cornwall Area

Responsibilities:

  • Providing support within the classroom wherever required
  • Delivering activities on one-to-one or small group basis
  • Ensuring children are engaged
  • Adapting to every individual pupil’s needs
  • Helping with behaviour management of children
  • Creating displays of children’s work
