Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Location: Pontypool

Hours: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

Salary: £12.82 per hour / £83.85 per day

Start Date: September 2024

The Role:
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to a 4 pupils who require individualised attention. Your role will involve creating a positive and nurturing environment, not just for the pupils you are working alongside, but also within the broader classroom community. You will collaborate closely with the classroom teacher to help plan and manage daily activities, ensuring a supportive and structured learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain a positive relationship with the pupil, classroom peers, teachers, and parents.
  • Demonstrate a patient, respectful, and professional demeanour at all times.
  • Manage and support pupil behaviour effectively, ensuring a conducive learning environment.
  • Assist in the planning and organisation of classroom activities alongside the teacher.
  • Offer emotional support and understanding to the pupil when needed.

About You:
The ideal candidate will be empathetic, patient, and committed to helping children reach their full potential. Previous experience working with children is essential, as well as the ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively.

Requirements:

  • A Child Only DBS registered on the update service (we can assist with this if needed).
  • Registration with the EWC (we can assist with this process as well).
  • Two professional references covering the last 24 months.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
