Teaching Personnel are currently working closely with a Social Emotional and Mental Health School based in Kingswood is currently recruiting for a behaviour mentor to join their staffing team from September.

All the children who attend the school have EHCP’s and have joined this school as they have severe behaviour issues that have prevented them from staying in mainstream school. All students present with persistent disruptive behaviour and violence, and all have had their mental health compromised by a range of risk factors.

Whilst this is a very rewarding role, it will also be very challenging. If you are interested in this role you will need to be resilient, patient and have the ability to deescalate situations. Although grades are important, much of the success lies in the personal development and SEMH progress that each child and young person makes. Therefore, it would be your responsibility to support them with this.

The ideal candidate will:

-          Be resilient and adaptable

-          Be able to set and keep boundaries in place

-          Had experience working with young people (TA, Youth worker, sports coach, police community support)

-          Being able to adjust to different student needs.

About the role:

-          September start

-          08:30- 4:30

-          Monday- Friday

-          £12.90 per hour

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
