Full-Time Teaching Assistant
Supporting a Year 5 Pupil (Wheelchair User) and Providing Year 6 Classroom Assistance
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a Year 6 pupil who is a wheelchair user, as well as assist in the Year 6 classroom. This is a full-time position, offering an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in a child's educational journey while supporting a dynamic teaching team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to a Year 6 pupil with mobility needs, ensuring they can fully access the curriculum and participate in school activities.
- Assist with personal care, mobility, and physical support as required.
- Support the Year 6 teacher with classroom activities, group work, and administrative tasks.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Encourage independence, confidence, and social interaction for the pupil.
- Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support the pupil's individual learning plan (ILP).
- Maintain a safe and respectful environment for all pupils.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, supporting children with physical disabilities.
- A positive, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to the varying needs of students and the school environment.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Qualifications
- Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Experience in personal care or physical support (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
