Job description

A friendly and welcoming school in South Bristol is looking for an experienced year 5 class teacher to join them from the first week of January until the end of the academic year. The school is an academy that is underpinned by four of their six core values: enjoy, success, respect, community, responsibility and compassion.

The school believes that creating a rich and engaging curriculum is every teacher's responsibility in order to help them excel. Enjoyment out of coming to school is an important aspect of life at this school, therefore  you will need to be extremely passionate about tailoring the curriculum to the needs of all children.

This role will require a strong, year 5 class teacher with good behaviour management, who can provide consistency for the class until the end of the academic year. You will be provided with weekly PPA time in order to plan and prepare lessons for the class. You will be delivering unique lesson, mostly with the help of a teaching assistant.

The successful candidate will have:

  • UK qualified teacher status,
  • Experience of working as a teacher within the last 10 years,
  • ECTs are welcome to apply for this role,
  • Be able to differentiate content for pupils with SEND,
  • Have good behaviour management,
  • Be able to utilise formative and summative assessment to maximise pupil progress

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of £49, plus an annual subscription fee of £16 for the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
