Job Title: Year 3 Teacher

Location: Nelson (BB9) 

Contract Type: Part-time (3 days per week Mon, Tues, Wed) 

Salary: MPS (depending on experience)

Start Date: January 2025

About Us:
We are a well-established and highly regarded primary school in Nelson (BB9) known for our supportive and inclusive environment where pupils are encouraged to thrive both academically and personally. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 3 Teacher to join our team on a maternity cover basis, starting after in the New Year. 

As the Year 3 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons to a class of enthusiastic learners. You will play a key role in fostering a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere while maintaining high standards of teaching and learning. The role will be a full-time maternity cover, offering an excellent opportunity to work in a "Good" rated school with a strong community focus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress to ensure high achievement and personal development.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment where all children feel valued.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the best outcomes for all pupils.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents and carers.
  • Uphold the school’s values and contribute to its community-focused ethos.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching in Key Stage 2, preferably Year 3.
  • A strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • Ability to inspire and engage pupils of varying abilities and backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Experience in planning differentiated lessons and providing tailored support to meet the needs of individual learners.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
