Unqualified Teacher

Location: Newport

Hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm

Start Date:  September 2024

Pay: £100 - £120 per day

Are you passionate about education and looking to gain experience in the classroom? Do you have a strong ability to manage and engage with students? We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as an Unqualified Teacher (Cover Supervisor) in a secondary school in Newport.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain on track with their work and maintaining a positive and productive learning environment. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to gain experience in the education sector or pursue a career in teaching.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage classrooms in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and follow provided lesson plans
  • Maintain a positive and productive learning environment
  • Ensure student behaviour is in line with school policies
  • Support students in their learning, providing guidance and assistance as needed
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians when required

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to apply)
  • 2 recent references available
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (or willingness to apply)
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training (or willingness to complete free training provided by Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
