Job Duties

The UASC ESOL Tutor will be responsible for planning and delivering English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes to Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC). Duties include creating lesson plans, conducting assessments, providing feedback to students, and monitoring progress.

Required Qualifications

  • Teaching qualification in ESOL or relevant field
  • Experience working with UASC or vulnerable populations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience

Previous experience teaching ESOL to diverse groups, particularly UASC

Knowledge and Skills

  • Understanding of ESOL teaching methodologies
  • Ability to create engaging and interactive lesson plans
  • Strong organisational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional teaching certifications
  • Experience in working with trauma-affected individuals

Working Conditions

The UASC ESOL Tutor will work in a classroom setting within an educational institution or within the learners home. The role may require flexibility in working hours to accommodate students' schedules.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
