Do you have experience in teaching English and/or Maths and are looking for some flexible work teaching children on a 1 to 1 basis?

At TP Tutors we have an exciting opportunity to help children with achieving their academic goals within English and Maths. The role will require someone who can create and plan exciting and engaging sessions to maximise the children’s potential within curriculum. We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with children and helping them become the best they can be within their core subjects. The role may involve working with children outside of mainstream settings. This role can range from KS3 – KS4.

This tutor role involves:

  • Plan, create and teach engaging sessions
  • Track progress and plan next steps
  • Inspire children to achieve
  • Be aware of the child’s needs and interests and plan to this accordingly
  • Implement behaviour strategies to ensure children are focussed

The role is based in the Gateshead area, which is easily accessible via car or public transport and has links with other towns nearby, however access to your own vehicle is desirable. The location is dependent on the situation of the child, but this will be clarified before starting.

What are we looking for in a tutor?

  • Fully Qualified Teacher with QTS
  • Range of experience working with children in different settings
  • Ability to develop effective behaviour management strategies
  • Apply skills to help children catch up and progress with their learning
  • Able to track progress and plan next steps in children’s learning

To be successful in your application, you must be able to provide evidence of this as skills and experience.

Please be aware that all applicants will be subject to background checks and will need a current DBS certificate (update service registered). Teaching Personnel can support your application should this be required.

Working hours are between Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm approximately, but you may be offered additional duties and responsibilities outside of these hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
