Job description

We are currently reruiting for a tutor to work 1:1 with a young person in a bespoke learning pod who has been out of education for some time.  

I am currently working with the local authority to find a tutor to work 5 hours a day, 2 days a week (tuesdays and thursdays) with a year 8 pupil in a bespoke learning pod within his care home.  This young person has complex needs but is now reintegrating back into education.  The learner has already began some home tuition however due to a change of circumstances with his current tutor now needs a new tutor to work with him on his learning.

This young learner has lots of positive attitudes towards learning and takes great interest in sport, music and art so a tutor who can engage him in these activities would also be beneficial.

This is to start ASAP and include the holidays.

  • Referrals to support primary, secondary and post 16 aged students with subject specific areas. Children may be in a mainstream setting, special educational needs or alternate provision setting or without a school place and fall under the local authority awaiting a suitable school place.
  • Bespoke online reporting platform- 24/7 access to enable you to log immediate attendance details, feedback and assessments.
  • Online classroom platform- to enable you to deliver online tuition to students in a virtual environment. This platform offers all the tools you will require to deliver online tuition and is recorded for safeguarding purposes and for revision purposes.
  • Hourly rate of £20- £30 which is paid weekly
  • Access to free safeguarding and CPD courses as well as free access to assessment tools and resources.

 

To be successful you will need:

  • A relevant teaching qualification ( QTS or at least a minimum of two years teaching experience) .
  • Experience working with SEN/SEMH
  • Able to assess and plan tuition sessions
  • Enthusiastic, engaging and resilient

It is desirable if you:

  • Have experience working with children in a tuition capacity
  • Have experience working with challenging behaviour
  • Have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs or a willingness to learn

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
