Temporary Secondary Science Teacher

Immediate start to December 20th 2024

Salisbury, North West London 

Salary:

£160 - £190 Per day dependent on Inner London pay scale

Company Overview:

A high-quality girls school in Salisbury, North West London is seeking a full-time Science Teacher to join a successful department until end of the term for MAT cover. The school boasts a “Good” Ofsted rating with the report praising the behaviour of the pupils. This school is not just focused on academic achievement, but also encouraging its pupils to excel physically, culturally and spiritually.

The Role:

The school is seeking a fully qualified Science teacher to teach at Key Stage 3 and 4. They would like the Science teacher to have a specialism in either Chemistry or Physics and be comfortable to teach KS3 Chemistry. There is already a fully planned science curriculum in place; however, it is encouraged that the teacher is creative with their teaching and learning. The department is experienced and very welcoming.

Newly qualified Science teachers are encouraged to apply as there is an experienced Science mentor in the department who can help plan lessons and provide guidance if necessary.

Job Duties:

  • Teach Science at Key Stage 3 and 4
  • Specialise in Chemistry or Physics and teach KS3 Chemistry
  • Be creative with teaching and learning methods
  • Collaborate with the Science department
  • Provide guidance and support to pupils

Required Qualifications:

  • Fully qualified teacher
  • Science degree

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Science or related field

Experience:

Previous experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and 4

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Interpersonal skills
  • Good communicator
  • Strong understanding of Science curriculum

Preferred Qualifications:

PGCE in Science Education

Working Conditions:

The role involves working full-time during school hours. The teacher will have access to school facilities and resources to aid in lesson planning and delivery.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
