Job Advertisement: Teaching Assistant (Level 2 Childcare)
Are you passionate about working with children and supporting their development in a school setting? We are looking for a motivated and caring Teaching Assistant with a Level 2 Childcare qualification to join our friendly and supportive primary school team in Cardiff.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils, including those with additional learning needs.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment that supports children’s emotional and social well-being.
- Support classroom organisation and management, including preparing resources.
- Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils achieve their potential.
- Supervise children during break times, outings, and activities.
- Work collaboratively with the teaching team and contribute to the wider school community.
Requirements
- Level 2 Childcare qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience working with primary-aged children in an educational or childcare setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to working with children.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
- Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
