Teaching Assistant - no experience necessary
Location: Cranborne, Dorset 
Contract: permanent, 40 hours per week, term time only
Hourly Rate:£11.72 - £12.78 per hour 
Annual Salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30 actual salary

Teaching Personnel have an exciting opportunity to work with an SEN College based in Cranborne. The College support young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who have additional social, emotional and mental health needs, by preparing them for adult life and facilitating their transition into further education, training or employment.

The college are looking for a passionate Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is essential to the support and development of the students being successful, independent, and achieving in a safe and caring learning environment.

 Key duties: 

  • Support and facilitate the learning and independence of our students. 
  • Contribute to planning, preparation, implementation and evaluation of education programmes, plans and reports as required. 
  • Contribute to assessing, recording, and reporting on young peoples’ progress 
  • Promote and encourage independence at all times. 
  • Keep records accurately and up-to-date 
  • Ensure safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed at all times 
  • Promote the development of positive social behaviours and self-regulation skills 

Successful candidates qualities:

  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own car 
  • Level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English 
  • Please note that the minimum age to work on site is 21 
  • Be positive and creative in meeting young person’s needs 
  • Be able to work on your own as well as part of a team 
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills 
  • Competent ICT skills 
  • Full training with the opportunity to gain qualifications (funded by the College) and CPD pathway for progressing

Directions- This College is based in Cranborne. You will need to be able to drive and have access to your own car. Parking will be available on site.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
