Primary Supply Teaching Assistant
Location: Taunton, Somerset
Contract: Supply / Temporary, Flexible Hours
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

 

Are you a dedicated and adaptable Primary Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work?

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to join our team of supply staff in Taunton, Somerset. This is a fantastic opportunity for a reliable and motivated individual who enjoys supporting children's learning across a variety of schools on a supply basis.

 

About the Role:
As a Primary Supply Teaching Assistant, you will be providing flexible support across different primary schools in the Taunton area. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting classroom teachers in delivering engaging lessons and managing classroom activities.
  • Assisting individual children or small groups, helping to meet their learning needs.
  • Providing support for students with special educational needs (SEN) and helping them to access the curriculum.
  • Helping with classroom organisation, preparing learning materials, and ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Promoting student wellbeing and supporting the social, emotional, and behavioural development of children.
  • Adapting to different school environments and working with different age groups, from Reception through to Year 6.

 

About You:
The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working as a teaching assistant in a primary school setting (preferred, but not essential).
  • A flexible and proactive approach to work, with the ability to adapt to different classroom environments quickly.
  • A passion for working with children and helping them reach their full potential.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with both children and staff.
  • A DBS check or willingness to undergo one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
