Job description

Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Secondary School

Location: Surrey

Salary: £83.85 per day (dependent on qualifications and experience)

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a mainstream secondary school in Surrey. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students and teachers in their educational journey, ensuring that every student receives the necessary guidance and assistance to thrive in the classroom.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers to provide one-on-one or small group support to students, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assist in planning and delivering educational activities and lessons, ensuring that individual student needs are met.
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, fostering a sense of belonging and engagement among students.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to teachers, identifying areas of improvement and areas of strength.
  • Contribute to the preparation of classroom materials and resources, ensuring they are readily available for use.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as record-keeping, attendance monitoring, and report writing.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school or similar educational setting is preferred.
  • A passion for education and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on students' lives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of students and the school.
  • A patient and understanding approach, with the ability to provide guidance and support to students facing academic challenges.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or a related field are desirable, but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
