SEN Teaching Assistant – Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? A welcoming and inclusive SEN school in the Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells area is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who require additional support to reach their full potential.

About the Role:

  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Tonbridge & Tunbridge Wells area
  • Contract: Full-time, long-term, with potential for permanent placement
  • Start Date: Immediate start available

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating a nurturing and structured environment that supports each student’s learning journey.
  • Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development, encouraging engagement, independence, and self-confidence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver personalized learning plans tailored to each child’s needs.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring the well-being and safety of all students.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN, is preferred but not essential.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting students’ growth, well-being, and individual achievements.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
