Teaching Assistant
Job description
This primary school provides personalised education tailored to meet the needs of its pupils aged 5-12. They ensure that their pupils are happy, safe and make progress on their journey to adulthood. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP) and have outcomes within the social emotional and mental health (SEMH) strand of the SEND code of practice. The vast majority of pupils have multi layered needs and have outcomes in other areas of the code of practice such as communication and interaction, cognition and learning or physical and sensory.
The successful candidate will need to be able to work within the classroom, liaise with the class teacher, pastoral team and the SEN Team and be willing to provide bespoke support for students with SEMH needs.

Key attributes for this role are:
- Experience of supporting children or adults with SEN needs and/or disabilities SEND especially in SEMH.
- High expectations of children's progress, attainment, and behaviour.
- The ability to use your own initiative, focusing on solving problems.
- Patience, empathy and good communication skills.
- Organisation and resourcefulness, the ability to work under pressure with good time management skills and a sense of humour.
- An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build positive relationships.
- Has emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours and attitudes.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
