Job description

Teaching Assistant Role: Fantastic Specialist Primary Centre, Hampton

Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a fantastic SEN school in Hampton, Middlesex (TW12). The school are in need of a number of teaching assistants to start ASAP.

The school has roughly 150 pupils and covers primary aged learners.

Hours- Mon-Fri 08:30- 15:30

There will be high ratios of staff to pupils so there will be plenty of experienced staff members on hand to support newer staff members as they assimilate into the team. The SLT at the school has an impressive leadership record; Teaching Personnel have placed many staff candidates into the school and those staff have often stayed on for many years and have fed back to us that it's a fantastic setting to work in and that they feel well supported- which is incredibly important within an SEN school.

There are positions across 5 classes, from Early Year class through to Year 6.  The school are looking for candidates who ideally have SEN experience and work pro-actively with a range of needs.  There will be personal care requirements and the candidates need to be aware that at times pupils present challenging behaviours.  Candidates with experience/specific training relating to challenging behaviour within SEN would be highly desirable.

Baring in mind the school are recruiting across multiple year groups, candidates with a specific preference on which year group they would like to be working with should get in touch as soon as possible to be first in line for the year group that best suits their experience.

Please also note! Teaching Personnel have supported this school by providing them several candidates over the past year or so, every single candidate we have placed there has had a fantastic experience and most staff that go there, even if it's just for a day- tend to ask if they can go back. This is a really great opportunity to work in a school with a wonderful support team in place- ideal for graduates or those who haven't had any formal experience working within education. Similarly, there are also roles for those have good SEN experience under their belt already.

Any candidates with relevant experience, who could get to the Richmond/Middlesex area should get in touch with Rudy, the Branch Manager of the Wimbledon Primary and SEN team.

We would be looking to get trial days/ meet and greets set up with the school ASAP- even as soon as early next week where possible.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
