Position: Teaching Assistant
Sector: Secondary Education
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Salary: Starting at £12.90 per hour
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate and committed individual to join one of our partner schools as a Teaching Assistant in the ASB Base, supporting pupils with autism. The ideal candidate will possess a compassionate and patient demeanour, showing resilience while offering support. In this role, you will collaborate with the class teacher and other staff members to create a positive, nurturing learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in a small class of pupils with autism within the ASB Base
  • Foster a positive and engaging learning environment for students
  • Build meaningful relationships with both students and staff, offering emotional and social support as needed
  • Ensure adherence to the school's safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Support in preparing teaching materials as required

Candidate Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced Child Only DBS Certificate (we can assist with this process)
  • Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Two professional references from the past 24 months
  • Level 2 Safeguarding certification (provided by Teaching Personnel for FREE)

***Experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable, but we encourage applications from individuals with personal experience or those eager to develop their skills in this area.***

About the School:
The school is located in Cwmbran, providing education to students aged 11 to 16. It has two specialised class bases designed to support students with hearing impairments and autism. Teaching Personnel is seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support students with autism in the ASD Base.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
