Job description

Autism child Worker

Looking for a caring and compassionate Autism child Worker for a mainstream primary & Secondary schools in Crawley to support children with complex learning difficulties and Autism between 11 and 19. This is a great opportunity for new graduates to gain experience with Special Educational Needs, or individuals with an education background to gain more specialist skills.

The school specialise in supporting:

-          Communication and interaction

-          Cognition (emotional, intellectual, social understanding) and learning

-          Social, Emotional and Mental Health

-          Sensory and physical needs

-          Autism, visual impairment or speech, language and communication needs

Each student’s Educational Healthcare Plan targets are the key focus for learning and drive their personalised curriculum. Explorative and play-based learning is at the heart of the school’s ethos. Your role as a child Worker would be to find dynamic ways to keep students engaged and support their education, provide small group/ 1-1 intervention under direction of the classroom teacher and adapt learning material to suit individual needs.

You will need to have suitable references and a DBS certificate (or be eligible to apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
