Are you looking to gain hands on experience working within an education setting?
Teaching Personnel are working with a primary SEN school in Bournemouth, looking for Teaching Assistants to start immediately. The school caters for pupils aged 5-12 years with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). Pupils may also have additional needs such as ADHD and Autism. The school follows the National Curriculum and runs similarly to a mainstream primary school, with small class sizes of around 6-8 pupils. The school is an Outstanding setting offering learning opportunities to the communities more vulnerable children.
The school provides excellent training and development, and is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a career in education - whether that be going into teaching (the school can support with teacher training) or for someone looking to go down a different route in education, such as educational psychologist or family liaison officers.
You will be working as a class based Teaching Assistant. This will involve supporting the teacher with the lessons and helping pupils with their work. You will also be required to support children on a 1-1 basis and will be responsible for behaviour management and providing emotional support.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, pro-active person who has a real passion for supporting children with behaviour needs. You must be a confident and resilient person. Experience working in a school is not required if you have experience supporting children or adults with special needs/mental health difficulties.
This is a full time role with opportunity for permanent employment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
