Teaching Assistant
Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 – 15:30
Pay: Starting from £83.85

About the job:
Teaching Personnel are seeking a driven and dedicated individual who wants to step outside of their comfort zone within one of our partnership schools based in Blackwood. The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant to work within their Special Resource Base dealing with pupils with complex needs from the Borough of Caerphilly. The successful candidate will need to be resilient and driven whilst demonstrating patience and passion for the development of the pupil’s education. At this brilliant newly developed school, it is their mission to produce “happy and healthy pupils, prepared by old fashioned standards and challenged through innovative teaching and learning experiences to create confident independent learners who will thrive in an ever-changing world”.

Key responsibilities:
- Adhere to the schools safeguarding policies and procedures
- Provide social and emotional support to pupils with additional learning needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Create a positive and comfortable environment in which pupils can develop
- Adapt to situations as they arise demonstrating your flexibility
- Build trusting relationships with pupils and other teaching staff
Job requirements:
- Evidence of right to work in the UK
- Must possess an Enhanced Child only DBS Certificate
- Registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)
- At least two professional references covering 24 months
Whilst having experience working with children who have special education needs in a professional setting is desirable, we welcome applications from people who have personal experience or someone who is willing to fully engage and develop skills in this area.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
