EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant Required – Blackpool

Location: Blackpool
Position: EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, ongoing
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Are you passionate about supporting children in their early years? Do you have experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and a desire to make a positive impact on young learners? Teaching Personnel has an exciting opportunity for you!

We are currently seeking a dedicated EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Blackpool. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about early years education and experienced in working with children with SEN, particularly those with speech, communication, and behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with a variety of special educational needs, ensuring they are fully included in classroom activities.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver Individual Education Plans (IEPs) that meet each child's specific needs.
  • Assist with creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, promoting social and emotional development.
  • Support children with communication and behavioural challenges, using positive reinforcement techniques.
  • Monitor and record children's progress, reporting back to the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Collaborate with external professionals such as speech and language therapists, where necessary.

About You:

  • Previous experience working with children in an EYFS setting, especially those with SEN, is essential.
  • A relevant qualification, such as Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent, is highly desirable.
  • A patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach, with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with autism, ADHD, speech and language delays, or other SEN conditions is highly advantageous.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
