Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Abergavenny
Hours: Full time / Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
Salary: £12.82 per hour / £83.85 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Teaching Personnel are actively pursuing a passionate, self-determined and proactive teaching assistant to directly support a pupil in a 1:1 capacity for the upcoming school year. The primary school in Abergavenny have identified a pupil that requires the dedicated and patient support of a teaching assistant that is striving for a successful career in the education sector. They are hopeful that the selected candidate would establish and maintain a positive relationship with not only the pupil, but also the rest of the classroom, teacher and parents alike.
A successful Teaching Assistant:
- Have a positive and respectful mindset.
- Always be patient and professional in and outside of the classroom.
- Effectively manage behaviour.
- Work alongside the teacher and assist the day to day set up and planning of the classroom.
- Have previous experience working with children.
- Is empathetic and can offer emotional support when needed.
Applicants will need:
- Child Only DBS on the update service and to be registered with the EWC (we can assist with both processes).
- Provide 2 professional based references covering the last 24 months.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
