Teaching Assistant - Behaviour Support

About the Role
In this role, you’ll work closely with students, particularly those needing extra behavior and emotional support. As a key part of our inclusion team, you’ll help foster a safe, structured environment that encourages personal growth, resilience, and positive behavior choices. You’ll also work with small groups and individuals to develop their social and emotional skills, creating a foundation for successful learning and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide targeted behavior support to individual students and small groups, helping them develop positive strategies and social skills.
• Assist the classroom teacher in managing behavior and reinforcing positive actions, ensuring a calm and productive learning environment.
• Work closely with students who have additional social, emotional, and behavioral needs, including those with SEN.
• Build supportive, trusting relationships with students to promote confidence, independence, and engagement.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff, and parents to implement consistent behavior support strategies.

About You

• Experience working with children in a behavior support or similar role is beneficial, but graduates with a strong interest in education and child development are welcome.
• A patient, empathetic approach with a keen understanding of how to engage students and promote positive behavior.
• Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a commitment to creating a safe, inclusive environment for all students.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
