Days: Monday to Friday

We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant who specializes in Autism Spectrum Disorder to join our team at a welcoming school in Pentwyn, Cardiff.

Job Description:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Autism within the classroom setting. You will work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment, encouraging students to achieve their best and develop their social and academic skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with Autism in their learning and development.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored educational activities.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Foster a positive and nurturing environment for students.
  • Collaborate with other staff members and contribute to team meetings.
  • Assist with personal care and any additional needs as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with Autism and special educational needs (SEN).
  • Relevant qualifications in education or child development (e.g., NVQ Level 3, CACHE, or equivalent).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learners.
