Teaching Assistant (Additional Needs, 11-16)
Hours: Full or Part Time
Location: Cardiff, CF14
Pay: from £84/day
Start: September 2024
We are working with a large secondary school environment in North Cardiff to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support within their Additional Needs Department.
The department supports pupils within the schools with a range of Additional Learning Needs who require support in accessing the mainstream school. Students benefit from a team of learning support staff delivering tailored academic, behavioural, emotional and social support with the aim of creating a positive learning environment for all.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Supporting students aged 11 - 16 within the school’s Additional Needs Department.
- Working on a 1:1 and small group basis with learners with Additional Learning Needs.
- Assisting the Class Teachers, and Senior Team, with managing pupil behaviour and monitoring progress.
- Provide emotional and wellbeing support to pupils where required.
- Engaging learners using adapted curriculums and additional activities.
Requirements:
- - Minimum 3 months experience with children/young people (in any setting)
- - Enhanced Child Only DBS with Update Service
- - EWC Registration
- - Professional/Academic references covering 2 years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
