A highly reputable Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Social Science with a specialism in Sociology to join the staff team of a growing and improving secondary school in Essex.
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to contribute to the academic and personal development of students while becoming part of a dynamic and supportive teaching community.
The successful candidate will initially cover a maternity contract, with the opportunity for the position to become permanent based on performance and the evolving needs of the school.
The Role:
- Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons in Sociology at Key Stages 4 and 5.
- Teach other Social Science subjects (e.g., Psychology or Health and Social Care) as required, depending on experience and curriculum needs.
- Inspire students to achieve their full potential, fostering a love for Social Science subjects.
- Participate actively in departmental planning, assessment, and extracurricular activities.
- Support the wider school community in promoting a culture of achievement and inclusion.
Requirements:
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- A degree in Sociology or a closely related Social Science discipline.
- Proven experience teaching Sociology at GCSE and A-Level.
- A strong track record of improving student outcomes.
- The ability to teach additional Social Science subjects is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to professional development and collaborative working.
